A Field Journal of Succession
What does it mean to belong outside?
A quarterly field journal for ecological design, succession, and what it means to belong outside. Written from inside the seasons, printed in small runs, designed to be passed forward.
What You’ll Get
Each issue contains one essay, one site study, one practical page, one seasonal observation. Written with the seasons.
Issues:
- Spring: Grown, Not Overgrown
- Summer (June 2026): Topic TBD
- Fall (September 2026): Topic TBD
- Winter (December 2026): Topic TBD
Each issue follows two threads:
The plants — what’s happening in the soil, the site, the season. What’s establishing. What failed. What surprised. What the land is already trying to become without anyone’s help.
The people — what’s happening in the communities that live on that ground. How belonging works. How we fall out of communities and back in. How the same principles that govern succession in a plant communities govern trust-building in a human one.
We grow better together.
